Web Analytics Manager- Implementation in Austin

About the Role:
In this role you’ll contribute to the success of our analytics initiatives. You’ll be responsible for defining and executing our tracking & measurement initiatives, which includes managing data collection standards for multiple analytic tools that enables our online properties to get accurate performance tracking.

This is an ideal position for analytics product managers who enjoy both a technical challenge and the opportunity to work closely with non-technical business professionals.
What are you going to do?

  • Manage an enterprise level tracking implementation initiatives. Build out tracking pipeline that meets internal stakeholder (marketing, merchandising, product, mobile and finance) needs and execute on accurate measurement standards on the customer facing online properties including desktop, mobile and tablet sites/apps.
  • Plan and execute accurate and actionable data collection process and integration of various analytic solutions across desktop site, mobile/tablet web and mobile apps.
  • Leverage business and technical expertise in analytics and developing strong cross-functional partnerships, this role will manage site tagging to ensure that the analytics program delivers a strong insight in to marketing campaigns, site functionalities, and merchandising placements across platforms.
  • Gather business requirements for new tagging requests; deliver solution design recommendations for tagging to product and engineering teams; partner closely with the product and engineering teams to identify gaps in current data capture strategy and collaborate to implement enhancements; prioritize enhancements needed to current implementation; ensure site tagging and measurement standard provides necessary visibility into impact and value of new initiatives or new product releases
  • Drive standardization, governance, and communication of analytics.
  • Build Center of Excellence for data collection framework across platform and globally, on platform expansion, data definitions, data governance standards for the analytics program.
  • Manage analytic platform/product pipelines to ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.
  • Periodic data validation on data collection variables and collaborate with technical team to make tagging changes.  This individual will make sure our analytic tools meet internal customers’ needs while satisfying scalability, reliability and other performance requirements.
  • Responsible for supporting analytics data feeding in to enterprise data warehouse that collects web traffic and marketing campaign data, management dashboards, website behavior analysis, data consolidation, and validation.
  • Deliver insights into analytic platform performance by providing objective reporting;  focusing the organization on meaningful metrics; measuring success against objectives for all customer facing product releases; evaluating data accuracy within reporting and dashboard tools for effectiveness; and measuring impact of any changes to site features.
  • Partner with the Product and Engineering teams to drive the implementation of any enhancements to tools (for example, beacon integration, click stream data warehouse solutions)
  • Evangelize analytic concepts and serves as an advocate for digital analytics by striving to improve skills and capabilities within the web metrics measurement space; creating and maintaining a data driven culture across all business units.
  • Lead efforts of analysts in planning, designing, and coordinating analysis or ad hoc projects; design and deliver training sessions for new users; and providing knowledge, experience, and analytical support to the BI team, and global business partners.

  • Omniture, Google Analytics, Tealeaf
  • HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, XHTML, CSS. Familiarity with DOM Scripting, JavaScript, Http/Https protocols, JavaScript frameworks
  • Vertica, Greenplum, Netezza, Hadoop, Pig, MapReduce
  • Tableau, R etc, QlikView
  • R, SQL and/or Hive
  • Excel

Experiences/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, MIS, or another technical or quantitative discipline required
  • 5+ years of experience in leading analytics tracking implementation efforts with hands on coding/tagging experience, preferably in eCommerce setup (or other relevant internet model) at the intersection of tracking & measurement tactics and product development capacity.
  • Strong ability to define and deliver analytics & BI needs from business case through tracking execution.  Working knowledge of web analytic technologies required.
  • Applied knowledge of SEM (Search Engine Marketing), PPC (Pay Per Click), SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and Email marketing for tracking channel performance.
  • Familiarity with consumer-facing internet products and the product development lifecycle
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally to manage tracking requirements in state of the art analytics tool as well as resolve operational issues.
  • Competency with project management including: issue and risk identification and management, tracking dependencies and milestones, and communication of overall project status.
  • Excellent communication and the ability to present measurement deliverables to internal stakeholders in relevant business terms.
